Our Story

Diane Alex was born in the vibrant, commercial and glamour city of India, Bombay now known as Mumbai. At the peak of cultural shifts, fashion and timeless styles -the 60s.

Creativity came naturally to Diane. Inspired deeply by her mother’s artistic talent and love for making beautiful things by hand, she inherited an eye for detail, elegance and thoughtful design — something that would later become the very foundation of her brand.

Diane pursued her passion for fashion at Sapphires College in Mumbai, where she specialised in Dress Making and Fashion Designing, emerging as the Maharashtra State Rank Holder for her program.

She began her career designing evening gowns and elegant formal wear, bringing sophistication and individuality into every piece she created. But life took on a more personal meaning with the birth of her daughter, Nicole.

What began as a mother designing little dresses for her own daughter and her tiny circle of “little dolls” soon became something much larger.

After moving to Kochi in the early 90s, she began her journey  of handmade, thoughtfully designed clothes for little girls named after her daughter, under the label “nicole".

From a humble beginning , Nicole by Diane Alex slowly grew through love, trust and word of mouth.

 What started from her guest room at home evolved over decades into an atelier synonymous with handcrafted luxury children's wear.

Through every stage of growth, one thing remained unchanged — the heart behind the brand.

A love for creating beautiful pieces with care, intention and craftsmanship.

Today, Nicole by Diane Alex continues to celebrate timeless dressing for little girls and women alike — blending elegance, comfort and individuality into every collection.
